Agassi Center For Education/Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy

Agassi established the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas in 2001. The school is a tuition-free charter school for the area’s at-risk children. He personally gave the school $35 million. In 2009, the graduating class had a 100% graduation rate and was expected to have a 100% college acceptance rate.

Agassi also supports Child Haven, Las Vegas’s only residential facility for abused and neglected children. Agassi donated funds to Child Haven in 1997 for a six-room classroom building that is now known as the Agassi Center for Education.

His foundation also contributed $720,000 to the construction of the Andre Agassi Cottage for Medically Fragile Children. This 20-bed facility, which opened in December 2001, provides comprehensive care for children who arrive with injuries or contagious illnesses, as well as those who require physical and developmental care.

Property Management

Agassi and Graff live in a sprawling compound in Las Vegas’ Summerlin neighborhood, complete with its own tennis court. They previously resided in Tiburon, Marin County, California. They paid $23 million for their 10,000-square-foot Tiburon mansion in 2001. The 3.5-acre property also included a 2,500-square-foot staff guest house, two swimming pools, three spas, a hot tub, a cold plunge, a stream, and a hydrotherapy waterfall. Agassi originally listed the home for $24.5 million.

In January 2007, he accepted $20 million from a buyer named Stuart Peterson, a $3 million loss. Stuart is the manager of the Artis Capital hedge fund. Artis and Sequoia Capital invested $11.5 million in the YouTube founders in 2005. Google purchased YouTube for $1.65 billion in Google stock three months before purchasing the Tiburon property. Artis received 176,621 Google shares as part of the deal. Those shares were worth $83 million at the time the deal was completed. If Artis had kept those shares, they would be worth more than $400 million today.

Stuart and his wife shocked their neighbors after purchasing Andre and Stefi’s house for $20 million by filing plans to completely raze the entire property. In its place, they built a 20,000+ square foot multi-structure compound with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The property is now most likely worth $60-80 million.

Andre Agassi’s Life Advice

Now that you know everything there is to know about Andre Agassi’s net worth and how he achieved success, let’s look at some of the best lessons we can take from him:

Work ethic is everything:

Agassi put in a tremendous amount of effort to become the world’s top-ranked ATP player. Beginning at the age of seven, he was forced by his demanding father to hit the tennis ball 2500 times per day while training with an automated ball spitting machine tuned by his father to be faster and stronger than market competitors.

In seventh grade, Andre is sent to Florida to train at the prestigious Bollettieri Tennis Academy, where he becomes rebellious while also becoming an amazing tennis player and champion. He drops out of school and devotes his entire time to tennis and his career.

Hard work is meaningless if the people you work with are untrustworthy

Pat, a Chilean strongman, trained Andre before he met Gil Reyes in 1989 and hired him as his personal trainer and conditioning coach. Pat wasn’t the best candidate for the job. He made Agassi do things that had nothing to do with tennis and had no effect on his on-court endurance and stamina.

This teaches us the importance of recognizing when someone we work with isn’t the best fit for us and the importance of seeking out experts to assist us.

It’s About Losing More Than Winning

Agassi kept losing after he became a fantastic tennis player. And he was losing a lot of money. I was astounded by how many games he lost after winning his first grand slam and rising to the top of the ATP rankings.

His greatness appeared to be in his perseverance through major events and his willingness to drop matches and tournaments he deemed unimportant.

Andre Agassi is a well-known American professional tennis player, having won eight Grand Slam titles. This legendary tennis player, whose career spanned nearly two decades, has been honored with numerous titles and accolades and continues to inspire tennis players all over the world.

Andre Agassi’s net worth 2022 is estimated to be $175 million.
